Pakistan, Sept. 10 -- England strengthened their control over the third Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston on Thursday as their batsmen produced another commanding display. The hosts resumed day two at 156-4 after Pakistan collapsed for 133 in the opening innings. England reached lunch at 299-6, with Jamie Smith unbeaten on 47 and Gus Atkinson on five.

Harry Brook and Dan Lawrence attacked Pakistan's bowlers from the start and quickly increased England's lead. Lawrence completed his half-century from only 47 balls, striking eight boundaries during an aggressive innings. However, Brook missed a chance to reach his 11th Test century when he ran himself out for 75.
