Pakistan, July 3 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the electric bus service in six more districts, including Attock, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Khanewal, reaffirming her government's commitment to expand the fleet to 5,000 electric buses across all districts and tehsils of the province.
Addressing the launch ceremony, the chief minister said the electric bus network had now expanded from the northern hill areas of Murree to southern and central Punjab and would be extended to the tehsil level in phases. She announced that around 1,500 more electric buses would be added during the current year, increasing the total fleet to nearly 3,000.
