Pakistan, Oct. 8 -- ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ruled that Punjab's long-delayed local government elections will be held in the last week of December 2025. The verdict, announced by a five-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, directs the Punjab government to complete delimitations within two months. The elections will be held under the Local Government Act of 2002.

The Commission emphasized that no further delays would be tolerated. Work on delimitation has already started to ensure timely polls.
