Pakistan, July 31 -- At least 34 miners have died after a methane gas explosion triggered a collapse at a coal mine complex near Quetta, authorities said on Friday. Rescue teams are continuing operations to locate two miners who remain trapped underground.

Muhammad Fahad, Director of Operations at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, said rescue efforts remain underway. Earlier, Balochistan Mines and Mineral Development Minister Shoaib Nosherwani said 36 miners were inside the collapsed section when the explosion occurred.
