Pakistan, May 26 -- Ishaq Dar arrived in New York on Tuesday to attend a high-level United Nations Security Council debate. The visit focuses on discussions surrounding international peace, multilateralism, and strengthening the United Nations system. Dar is also expected to hold important diplomatic meetings with global counterparts and senior UN officials.

According to Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the debate is being convened under China's presidency of the UNSC. The session is titled "Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter." The discussions will examine ways to reinforce the UN-centered international system amid rising global challenges.
