Pakistan, Aug. 12 -- The death toll from Colombia's powerful earthquake rose to 254 on Tuesday. Rescue teams continued searching collapsed buildings across the country's western region. The 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the coffee-growing heartland early Monday. It damaged apartment buildings, homes, schools and health centres. Pereira recorded 101 deaths, while Cali reported 95 fatalities. Thousands of residents were also left homeless after buildings collapsed or became unsafe.
