Pakistan, Dec. 29 -- Chinese scientists set a new world record as a maglev train reached 700 kilometers per hour in just two seconds. The experiment, conducted on December 25, used a 400-meter-long track and a nearly one-ton superconducting train. Researchers safely stopped the train after the trial, demonstrating unprecedented acceleration.
The breakthrough comes after the same train hit 648 km/h earlier this year. Engineers at China's National University of Defense Technology have spent ten years developing this high-speed maglev technology. Experts said the train's record makes it the fastest superconducting electric maglev train ever built.
