Pakistan, July 6 -- China announced on Monday that it had successfully carried out a missile test in the Pacific Ocean, describing the launch as part of its routine annual military training programme and saying relevant countries had been notified in advance.

According to a statement issued by the Chinese navy, a strategic nuclear submarine of the People's Liberation Army Navy launched a strategic missile carrying a simulated training warhead at 12:01 pm local time. The missile reportedly landed accurately in a designated area of the high seas in the Pacific Ocean.
