Pakistan, Sept. 10 -- The death toll from a cargo ship fire at a Chinese port has risen to 25. State media reported that the victims included five people previously listed as missing.
The fire broke out on Thursday aboard a foreign-flagged bulk carrier in Qingdao. The vessel had 42 people aboard when the fire started during its port call for maintenance.
Rescue teams evacuated 17 people from the ship, including five injured individuals. However, authorities later found all 25 missing people without signs of life. Firefighters extinguished the open flames by about 2:30pm local time.
The fire started at around 11:15am while the vessel remained at the port for maintenance. Authorities have not yet identified the cause of the incident. Off...
