Norway has launched the world's first commercial carbon storage service, successfully injecting CO2 beneath the North Sea seabed. The Northern Lights consortium, led by Equinor, Shell, and TotalEnergies, operates this groundbreaking project. Their goal is to capture CO2 from factories across Europe and store it underground, stopping harmful emissions from entering the atmosphere.
