Pakistan, June 13 -- A royal biographer has alleged that Prince Andrew frequently pressured his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, during the final years of her life in an effort to secure royal privileges for his daughters, according to claims made in a recently published biography.

The allegations were made by historian and author Andrew Lownie, whose book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York examines the role and influence of the York family within the British monarchy.

Speaking at the Oxford Literary Festival, Lownie claimed that Prince Andrew used his close relationship with the late Queen to push for decisions that would benefit his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
