Pakistan, May 19 -- Australia's Big Bash League (BBL) is reportedly set to begin its upcoming season with a historic opening match in India, marking a potential first-of-its-kind move for the franchise-based T20 tournament.

According to media reports, the first match of the BBL season is expected to be played in December in Chennai, with the city being considered as the likely host for the opening fixture. The development, if finalised, would represent a major step in expanding the league's international footprint.
