Pakistan, Aug. 16 -- Bangladesh has said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will not visit India until New Delhi takes steps toward extraditing former premier Sheikh Hasina, who fled there after the 2024 uprising.
Foreign ministry official AKM Shahidul Karim said Dhaka wants India to accelerate the extradition process, while New Delhi maintains that the request remains under examination.
Karim played down reports of a possible Rahman visit to India next week, saying a suitable environment must first be created before the Bangladeshi leader travels to the neighbouring country.
