Pakistan, April 21 -- Azerbaijan has said it is ready to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan as the country faces rising energy shortages linked to ongoing geopolitical disruptions. The state energy company SOCAR stated that it can begin deliveries as soon as Pakistan submits an official request through its designated gas procurement body.
According to SOCAR, a framework agreement signed in 2025 between Socar Trading and Pakistan LNG Limited allows Pakistan to directly purchase LNG cargoes through an accelerated process. The arrangement is designed to support faster energy procurement during periods of supply disruption and market instability.
