Pakistan, July 30 -- Australia online safety regulator has launched legal action against Telegram, alleging the messaging platform failed to remove extremist and terrorist content despite repeated warnings from authorities.

The case, filed in the Australian Federal Court by the eSafety Commissioner, accuses the UAE-based platform of allowing violent material to remain accessible, including videos linked to the 2019 Christchurch mosque attacks, the 2022 Buffalo supermarket shooting, and propaganda from the militant group Islamic State (IS).
