Pakistan, Aug. 31 -- Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has dismissed speculation about a possible return to the national team for next year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Amir, who officially announced his retirement from international cricket on December 14, 2024, acquired British citizenship and a British passport through his wife, Narjis Khan.

As a British citizen, Amir will now participate in franchise competitions such as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as an overseas player rather than as a local Pakistani player.
