Pakistan, Aug. 19 -- Federal Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Mueen Wattoo told the National Assembly on Tuesday that all major rivers were currently flowing at normal levels.

Responding to a point raised by a lawmaker, he said both eastern and western rivers were at normal levels.

He said farmers and people living in flood-prone areas needed to remain aware of the situation. However, there was no immediate cause for concern, he added.

The minister said the water level at Tarbela Dam was also within the normal range. He said the reservoir currently had water at around 1,550 feet.

He said the water level was within the dam's capacity and was not high enough to create a flood situation.
