Pakistan, Sept. 9 -- A United Nations report has highlighted growing links between militant networks in Afghanistan and terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The report says Al Qaeda has supported the banned TTP and BLA. It also describes expanding cooperation among several militant groups.

According to the report, Al Qaeda fighters moved into Pakistan's tribal areas after leaving Afghanistan in 2001. The banned TTP provided them shelter there, according to the report. Their links reportedly strengthened after the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
