Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has stressed the need to strengthen Pakistan's manufacturing base, enhance productivity and promote export-oriented industries to put the national economy on the right track.

Addressing at Pakistan International Auto Show at expo center here on Sunday, he said the automotive industry, whose foundations had been laid over the past four decades, was now producing impressive results and had become an important part of the country's industrial base.
