Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- Afghanistan and Pakistan can use their deep interdependence to promote stability and shared economic interests. Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakib made the remarks at the National Defence University in Islamabad. He said decades of conflict have closely linked the interests of both neighbouring countries.

Shakib urged Pakistan and Afghanistan to view their current realities through a new perspective. He said both countries should move beyond outdated assumptions when assessing their bilateral relationship. According to him, geography, people, society and history connect the two countries closely.
