Pakistan, Sept. 18 -- Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah has suspended four officials, including an assistant commissioner and a district food controller, over alleged misappropriation, mishandling and other irregularities involving wheat seized during the provincial government's recent crackdown on hoarders.

A formal notification placing the four officials under immediate suspension has also been issued. According to a spokesperson for the chief secretary, those suspended are Shah Muhammad, Assistant Commissioner Sobhodero; Waqar Shaikh, Mukhtiarkar Sobhodero; Mushtaque Ahmed Shaikh, District Food Controller Khairpur; and Pir Bux Juno, In-charge PRC Ranipur/Food Supervisor.
