Pakistan, Sept. 3 -- Abdullah Jan will finally represent Pakistan at the Asian Games after securing long-awaited sponsorship for his international trip. The 27-year-old table tennis player has won the national Paralympic title 14 times despite facing serious financial difficulties. He will now travel to Japan after years of missing major events because he could not afford airfare.
Abdullah lost the use of his left leg after polio affected him when he was just one year old. His coach, Mian Absar Ali, first met him in 2014 when he won gold at the National Paralympic Games as a school student. Despite having little formal coaching, Abdullah has remained Pakistan's national champion since then.
