Pakistan, Sept. 22 -- A 65-year-old Chinese woman allegedly used AI-generated images and videos to pose as a 29-year-old doctor. Police said she obtained 170,000 yuan from a businessman over five months through the deception.

Yu Xiuzhen reportedly created a fake social media identity and used digital face-changing technology. She claimed to work as a doctor at a major Shanghai hospital, where she actually worked as a cleaner.

Over nearly five years, Yu shared about 7,000 AI-generated photos and videos online. She gained almost 10,000 followers before meeting businessman Liu Hui through social media in 2021.
