Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- At least 11 people were killed after a loader rickshaw carrying wedding guests plunged into a canal in Kot Addu.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the accident occurred in the Sinanwan area of Muzaffargarh district. The vehicle was carrying more than 24 family members.

The passengers, including women and children, were travelling with a wedding procession when the rickshaw reportedly lost control and fell into the canal.

People at the scene initially began rescue efforts and pulled several passengers to safety. Rescue 1122 teams later joined the operation alongside police and district administration officials.
