ZANZIBAR, March 18 -- RELIGIOUS leaders have called for a stronger moral upbringing of children and youth, stressing early religious guidance as key to building a disciplined and responsible society.

Deputy Mufti of Zanzibar Mahmoud Mussa Wadi made the statement on Wednesday during a Quran memorization competition held in Mjini District, Unguja, which drew participation from various leaders and community members.

The Mufti noted that good community values stem from proper upbringing rooted in religion from an early age.
