ZANZIBAR, Aug. 10 -- ZANZIBAR President, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, said his government is continuing to explore new and affordable sources of financing to implement major strategic projects and accelerate the development of Zanzibar.

Dr Mwinyi made the remarks today, August 10, 2026, when he met the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Trade and Development Bank (TDB), Admassu Tadesse, and his delegation at the Zanzibar House in Unguja.

He said Zanzibar intends to utilise various financing mechanisms to expand investment opportunities in key strategic projects, including the Mangapwani Integrated Port, energy, housing, oil and gas, as well as social and economic development projects.
