ZANZIBAR, May 27 -- ZANZIBAR has allocated 269bn/- for the construction of 63.8 kilometres of roads linking Zanzibar Town to the planned sports city in Fumba as preparations intensify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The project, which includes several six-lane roads, forms part of the Zanzibar Ministry of Infrastructure and Transports 1.815tri/- budget for the 2026/2027 financial year, presented in the House of Representatives by Minister Khalid Salum Mohammed.
