Uhuru Torch race launches a major water project in Kwimba district
MWANZA, Aug. 17 -- THE Tanzanian government, through the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), is implementing a water project in three villages of Mwankuba, Manawa and Mwanginghi located in Kwimba district at Mwanza region with a total population of 6888, with the first phase being implemented in Mwankuba village with a population of 2075.
This was evident today, August 17, 2026, when the Torch of Uhuru arrived in Mwankuba village to inspect an 88-meter-long borehole with a capacity to produce 19,000 cubic liters of water per hour, which is the source of the project being built by contractor Lugayila Co. Ltd.
