DAR ES SALAAM, March 25 -- ON 18 March 2026, at the State House in Dar es Salaam, President Samia Suluhu Hassan received the Presidential Commissions report on tax reforms.
In response to the countrys declining foreign aid and tightening global financing conditions, President Hassan stated that she prioritises domestic revenue mobilisation as the cornerstone of Tanzanias economic strategy while endorsing comprehensive tax reforms proposed by the presidential commission.
Despite geopolitical tensions and shifting global dynamics that are restricting Tanzanias access to external capital as it once had, the report identifies 284 areas that will help the country rely more effectively on its own resources to fund development.
