Tulia highlights AI on IPU agenda
ARUSHA, Oct. 2 -- PRESIDENT of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Dr Tulia Ackson, has called for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help parliaments develop better laws and policies.
She noted that the adoption of the technology will be among the key issues discussed during the forthcoming 153rd IPU Assembly.
Dr Tulia, however, cautioned that the technology must not replace legislators in making decisions on behalf of citizens.
She said this yesterday ahead of the assembly, which will be held in Arusha from Monday to Friday. The assembly will be the first to be held in Tanzania since the IPU was established in 1889.
