LONDON, UK, June 19 -- Tanzanias High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr Mbelwa Kairuki, met and held talks with the Speaker of the UK Parliament, Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle, at the Speakers official residence on 18 June 2026.

The discussions focused on strengthening the long-standing relations between Tanzania and the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of education, trade, investment, science and technology, as well as enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Kairuki briefed the Speaker on Tanzanias preparations to host the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, scheduled to take place in Arusha in October 2026.
