DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 9 -- THE Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has completed technical inspection of a 1,500-tonne Modular Floating Dock at the Dar es Salaam Port, paving the way for its deployment to expand ship repair services and reduce reliance on overseas facilities.

According to information released by the authority in Dar es Salaam, the dock, capable of lifting vessels weighing up to 1,500 tonnes, has been inspected by Bureau Veritas (BV) under Regulation NR 475 and certified to be in good condition and compliant with technical requirements for its intended operations.
