DODOMA, June 5 -- A total of 100 young innovators have advanced to the next stage of the Vijana Uchumi Challenge 2026, a competition aimed at generating ideas to strengthen Tanzanias economy against global economic shocks.

The initiative also aims to support the vision of the Sixth-Phase Government and the National Development Vision 2050.

Announcing the list in Dodoma on Friday (June 5, 2026), the Secretary of the National Vijana Uchumi Challenge Committee, Ms Amina Sanga, told reporters that the finalists were selected following a highly competitive process that attracted 7,852 applications from across the country.

The winner will walk away with 50m/-, while the first and second runners-up will receive 30m/- and 20m/-, respectively....
