ARUSHA, Oct. 8 -- TANZANIAS private sector has called for a modern, fair and transparent tax administration system that uses technology to support business growth while ensuring government revenues increase alongside economic activity.

President of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), Vincent Bruno Minja, made the call while representing the private sector at the opening of the 46th Annual CATA Heads of Tax Administrations Meeting and Technical Conference in Arusha.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Minja said effective tax administration is critical to promoting business, investment and employment, stressing that revenue growth should go hand in hand with the expansion of the private sector.
