DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 17 -- TANZANIA Communications Authority (TCRA) has issued a warning to online content providers who distribute unlicensed news and events in violation of the Online Content Act and Regulations of 2020 and its amendments of 2022.

A statement issued by TCRA Director General, Dr Jabiri Bakari, said that TCRA has been closely monitoring the trend of online content services and is issuing warnings to those who violate the laws and regulations of broadcasting services.

“TCRA, under the authority granted per the Communications and Postal Act, Chapter 306 and its regulations, is responsible for regulating telecommunications and Internet services, postal and radio, television, and online content broadcasting.
