DAR ES SALAAM, June 17 -- JOURNALISTS from across Tanzania have started submitting their entries for the 2026 Journalism and Development Reporting Awards, commonly known as the Samia Kalamu Awards.

The awards are organized by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority in collaboration with the Tanzania Media Womens Association and the Journalists Accreditation Board, with the aim of recognizing and promoting excellence in development journalism across the country.

According to a joint statement signed by the awards Chairperson, Peter Mwasalyanda, and Vice Chairperson, Rose Reuben, a total of 624 entries had been submitted through the awards portal by June 15, 2026.
