DODOMA, July 31 -- OVER 2.298tri/-has been paid to farmers and producers in Tanzania through the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) during the 2025/26 financial year.

The Executive Director of the Warehouse Receipts Regulatory Board (WRRB), Asangye Bangu, made the statement while addressing journalists in Dodoma on July 31, 2026, where he also outlined the Boards plans and priorities for the 2026/27 financial year.

Bangu said the payments were generated from the sale of agricultural produce traded through the system, which has continued to serve as an important platform for enabling farmers to access competitive markets, increase their incomes, and improve their economic well-being.
