Dar es Salaam, Aug. 12 -- The African Development Bank (AfDB) has appointed Dr Bahati Sanga, a Tanzanian, as the new Senior Director, Corporate Information Technology Services Department/Chief Information Officer (CIO) from July 1, 2025.

Dr Sangas extensive experience and leadership in digital transformation and IT solutions were cited as key factors in his selection.

Dr Sanga has worked at the AfDB since 2010 and has held several key positions, demonstrating his deep expertise in the field. He has over 25 years of experience in organizational reforms, strategy design, and the execution of digital solutions within financial and development institutions.
