DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 8 -- THE Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF) has confirmed the countrys participation in the upcoming Africa Women Basketball League (AWBL), a continental club tournament organized by FIBA Africa.

Through Zone V of FIBA Africa, Tanzania will be represented by two womens teams: Don Bosco Lioness from Dar es Salaam and Fox Divas from Mara, according to TBF Secretary-General Mwenze Kabinda.

Both teams qualified for the league after reaching the finals of the 2024 National Womens Basketball League. Kabinda said the regional qualifiers will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 9 to 15.
