DODOMA, Aug. 6 -- THE Tanzanian government has pledged to strengthen Tanzanias livestock sector through improved animal breeds, disease control, water infrastructure and expanded market opportunities as part of efforts to increase productivity and support the countrys Development Vision 2050.

Deputy Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Ngwasi Damas Kamani, said the ministrys priority is to help livestock keepers produce for the market while improving efficiency across the value chain.

Speaking during the Nanenane Agricultural Exhibitions in Dodoma, Mr Kamani said the governments agenda is guided by the theme “Know the Market, Increase Productivity, Implement Vision 2050.”
