DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 18 -- Tanzania will host the launch of the African Union Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Roadmap 2026-2030 in Arusha later next month, with President Samia Suluhu Hassan expected to officially unveil the continental health plan.

Saada Mkuya, Zanzibars Minister of State in the Presidents Office, Finance and Planning, announced the planned launch during the fourth Eastern Africa Regional Ministerial Steering Committee (ReSCO) meeting in Dar es Salaam.

President Samia, who serves as the African Union Champion for Maternal and Child Health, will launch the roadmap in the presence of fellow African heads of state and government, Ms Mkuya said.
