DODOMA, June 11 -- TANZANIA continued to strengthen its position as one of Africas fastest-growing investment destinations, with foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rising by 28.3 percent to 1.72bn US dollars in 2024, up from 1.34bn US dollars recorded in 2023.

Presenting the 2026/27 National Development Plan and the State of the Economy Report in Parliament today, June 11, 2026, the Minister of State in the Presidents Office (Planning and Investment), Prof Kitila Mkumbo, said the strong performance reflects growing investor confidence in the countrys economic outlook.
