DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 9 -- OVER 1 million Standard Seven pupils have been registered to sit for the national primary school examination, which begins countrywide tomorrow, September 10, 2026.

According to the Executive Secretary of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), Prof Said Mohamed, said out of the registered candidates, 535,138 (45.65percent) are boys and 637,141 (54.35 percent) are girls.

 He said most students, approximately 93.35 percent, will take the exams in Kiswahili, while 6.65 percent will use English, reflecting their schools language of instruction.
