DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 13 -- TANZANIA has made great strides in the horticulture sector by producing over 8.4m tonnes in 2023/24 from 1.1m tonnes in 2003/04.
The Permanent Secretary in the Prime Ministers Office (Policy, Parliament and Coordination), Dr Jim Yonazi, made the statement when launching a Horti Logistica Africa Council in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, during the General Conference on Agriculture and Agribusiness for Horticultural Crops.
Additionally, Dr Yonazi noted that export earnings from the sector have increased from 64m US dollars to over 569m US dollars.
