DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 12 -- TANZANIA has recorded a reduction in energy loss levels, dropping by 8percent from 21 percent in 2021 to 14.8percent this year, thanks to various measures, including the implementation of an energy efficiency program.

Speaking today in Dar es Salaam during the announcement of winners in an innovation competition aimed at developing technologies to support efficient energy use—under a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and European Union (EU) initiative—the Energy Commissioner from the Ministry of Energy, Engineer Innocent Luoga, said energy loss continues to decline steadily, with the target being to reach a loss level of just 6 percent.
