DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 27 -- Tanzania has made significant progress in its fight against corruption, according to the latest global statistics from Transparency International.
The country now ranks second in East Africa, trailing only Rwanda, and holds 14th position out of 54 African nations.
Speaking during a public forum today, the Minister of State in the Presidents Office for Planning and Investment, Professor Kitila Mkumbo, highlighted Tanzanias improving ranking as evidence of the governments strong anti-corruption efforts.
