KIGALI, Sept. 4 -- RWANDA is hosting the annual meetings of the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG), bringing together government leaders at ministerial, permanent secretary and senior official levels from various sectors.

The meetings aim to strengthen joint efforts among member states to combat money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Member states are being urged to strengthen their financial crime prevention systems by focusing on measurable, tangible outcomes rather than concentrating solely on meeting technical compliance requirements.
