ADDIS ABABA, July 30 -- TANZANIA has endorsed the adoption of the African Union (AU) 2027 Budget, while calling for stronger public financial management, accountability and results-based budgeting to ensure the efficient use of the Unions resources.

The position was presented by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa, during the 49th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on July 28-29, 2026.

Ambassador Mussa led the Tanzanian delegation at the meeting on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP).
