INDIA, Aug. 17 -- TANZANIA is committed to strengthening its strategic cooperation with India, particularly in trade and investment, in an effort to promote sustainable development and improve the livelihoods of citizens in both countries, Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Ambassador Dr. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo has said.

Minister Kombo made the remarks during celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Indias independence, where he congratulated the country on the achievements it has recorded over more than eight decades of nation-building.

He said India has made significant progress in building a strong democratic nation, a growing economy, and development systems driven by science, technology and innovation.
