Tanzania bolsters distribution of fertilizer, seeds to farmers ahead of new planting season
MPANDA, Oct. 5 -- THE Tanzanian government has assured farmers that fertiliser and seeds are being distributed across the country in preparation for the 2026/27 farming season, with the move aimed at preventing input shortages and delays that could affect crop production.
Agriculture Minister Daniel Chongolo gave the assurance on October 4, 2026, while inspecting the Tanzania Fertiliser Company (TFC) sales centre in Mpanda, Katavi Region, saying the ongoing distribution was intended to ensure farmers access key inputs on time and prepare their farms ahead of the planting season.
